MTD FOR INCOME TAX

MTD for Income Tax Is Here — Is Your Practice Ready for 2027?

Since 6 April 2026, sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC through compatible software. More than 864,000 sole traders and landlords are already in scope. From April 2027 the threshold drops to £30,000, and from April 2028 to £20,000, bringing a much larger share of your client base into quarterly reporting.

Unison Globus gives UK practices, including ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, CIOT/ATT and AAT firms, a dedicated offshore team to handle the extra MTD workload, so you can take on more clients without adding headcount.

Quarterly updates prepared and ready for your review well before each HMRC deadline

Year-end adjustments and the tax return prepared by 31 January

We have been outsourcing Payroll, Bookkeeping and year-end accounts preparation work to Unison Globus since 2018. Our business model requires us to work flexibly across a diverse range of clients and, to achieve this, we decided at an early stage to commission services from Unison using a full time accountant option. We are delighted with the quality and timeliness of work produced by the Unison team. The team at Unison Globus seek to add value in everything they do.
